Our History

Kathy Hansen founded Spencer in 2005 with a desire to use real estate decisions as a catalyst for transforming organizations. "I started Spencer because I wanted to promote new ways to view real estate," said Kathy Hansen, founder and president of Spencer.  "I have more than two decades of real estate experience, and felt there was a real need that was not being met.  We present a perfect alignment between our clients' organizational mission and their real estate strategy.  And I'm thrilled with the exceptional results we've seen to date."

Today, Spencer boasts a roster of 33 clients around the country and a team that is passionate about transforming organizations with innovative strategies.  Five years since our inception, Spencer has fine-tuned its offering.  Today our clients understand that our core competency is delivering innovative real estate advisory services. It's extremely satisfying to create value for our clients.

Chaz Walker, Spencer's senior associate, joined the company in 2006.  Chaz began his career as an intern while finishing his degree in Real Estate Finance at SMU.  Today, Chaz has proven himself a strong real estate strategist.  "Starting off in the commercial real estate business, I expected to focus my attention on completing traditional real estate transactions.  Instead, I've been privileged to be part of a forward-thinking team that provides a full range of outsourced advisory services," said Chaz.  "In my opinion, this is the best approach to making good real estate decisions because we provide insight and creative strategies that help our clients succeed."
