iNEK Technologies Case Study
The Challenge
iNEK Technologies, a international company that provides cost-effective technology solutions, was founded on the principle that it could provide a sophisticated range of IT solutions to enable clients to achieve their business goals by cutting costs, responding to market needs, streamlining internal operations, enhancing customer service and mitigating risk. With offices in India and Kansas, the company determined that it needed a Dallas presence – specifically one with immediate access to the University of Texas at Dallas campus. One year ago, Spencer partnered with iNEK to develop an effective business expansion plan in Dallas. More recently, iNEK sought counsel from Spencer as it found itself needing a revised strategy for its Dallas office due to record growth and the company’s intention to launch a Dallas-based subsidiary, Skolix.
The Strategy
Spencer first worked toward a comprehensive understanding of iNEK’s business goals which included servicing its now enlarged client base and continuing the exponential growth of the company internationally. With this came a distinct focus on the alignment of iNEK’s real estate decisions with its corporate mission. Spencer evaluated the current organizational structure, interviewed key leadership, surveyed how real estate functions are currently managed, reviewed the company’s current state versus its future state goals and made recommendations for a long-term strategy that would meet overall business expectations for the next five to ten years.
The Value Creation
“We knew that iNEK and its new subsidiary Skolix needed more than an expanded office presence in Dallas – it needed to use real estate as a branding tool at a critical time in the life of the company,” said Chaz Walker, senior associate at Spencer. “Our analysis and subsequent solution not only gives the company room to grow, but also provides it with the right physical presence in the market it is most determined to impact.” “At iNek, we help our clients achieve their strategic goals and profit from the use of information technology,” said Aruna Mandadi, chief executive officer at iNek. “Spencer has done the same for us by using real estate as a tool to achieve our goals. From our first days in Dallas, Spencer has provided us with unparalleled real estate advice – counsel that has lined up squarely with our corporate growth and profit goals.”
