Women of Faith Case Study
The Challenge
Women of Faith, a subsidiary of Thomas Nelson Publishing, is a faith-based women's organization encouraging women of all ages and stages in life to grow in faith and spiritual maturity through a relationship with Jesus Christ and an understanding of God's love and grace. Based in Plano, Texas, Women of Faith was hosting nearly a half-million attendees at its events each year and had recently added a new event, The Revolve Tour for teenage girls, to its already robust business. Women of Faith needed a roadmap that connected the organization's mission and business objectives to it real estate decisions.
The Strategy
Spencer partnered with Nashville, Tennessee-based Cherry & Associates more than two years ago by first understanding the company's mission and evaluating its short- and long-term business goals. Spencer developed a real estate roadmap to guide the company's decisions as it assesses the future growth and development of the Women of Faith organization. Economic incentives, location, branding and strategic growth are all aspects of the long-term strategy Spencer developed for Women of Faith and Thomas Nelson.
The Value Creation
The relationship itself is the value-add for Women of Faith - consistently receiving strategic counsel on how, when and why real estate decisions should be made in an ongoing manner. Today Women of Faith has a clear understanding of how these decisions can help drive the achievement of overarching business goals and mission. "Spencer has been a constant in a state of change for us," said Lara Dulaney, vice president - finance of Thomas Nelson Live Events. "Over the past several years, we've changed directions with respect to our real estate relocation efforts not only once, twice or three times, but maybe a hundred times! All along the way, Spencer has been there to help us adapt to the new plan. Spencer has been patient with us and given us multiple options to evaluate. We look forward to a long standing relationship with the team at Spencer."
