USGBC LEED Spencer's President receives her LEED® Professional Accreditation

After completing 24 hours of course work plus another 40 hours of home study, Kathy Hansen earned her Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Professional Accreditation and became part of an elite group of professionals across the country to hold such a designation (see http://www.usgbc.org/leedap).

LEED® AP distinguishes professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED® certification process. LEED® Accredited Professionals (LEED® AP's) have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED® Rating System. Approximately 75,000 people have earned the credential since the Professional Accreditation program was launched in 2001.

"Spencer is involved in an impactful initiative we are calling the "LEED® Gap Analysis" for a number of our clients throughout the country", says Spencer president, Kathy Hansen. "In short, we assess where they are now on their corporate standards, building or portfolio and make recommendations based on how far the client wants to go with their green initiative. Some clients are choosing simply to be more green while others are actually going through the formal process of becoming LEED® certified".

Referring Spencer Advisory Services

Relationships have proven fundamental to the success of our business. That's why referrals are so important to us and why we always begin each new client engagement with an initial consultation that includes an understanding of:

-  the company's business objectives

-  the company's current real estate position

Understanding these two elements illuminates the gap that needs to be addressed.  At the end of this initial consultation, our clients receive a road map that outlines key recommendations that will help the client use real estate decisions to achieve its business goals.

Many companies are experiencing change right now. It might be a merger, acquisition, consolidation, national or international growth, expansion, IPO, or a host of other goals that require companies to undergo change. Spencer has a proven track record of developing and executing strategies to aid in the achievement of these goals. "Few companies understand how wholly real estate initiatives affect the achievement of corporate goals," says Spencer senior associate, Chaz Walker.  "Whether it's understanding growth projections, work flow, location analysis or financial standing, effective real estate decisions can make or break a company's ability to move forward to achieve its desired goals."

Spencer partners with organizations on an interim or a long-term basis in order to fully support a company's mission.  Think of Spencer as your in-house corporate real estate department with the ability to meet the challenges facing many organizations.
