The New Rules of Doing Business
This
was the topic at the American Express OPEN® Women's Business Summit,
recently held in Houston, Texas, and attended by hundreds of women
business owners who were inspired to achieve business sustainability
and growth.
Spencer president, Kathy Hansen was on hand to gather insight into how
these "New Rules" could benefit and enhance Spencer's consulting
services. The "New Rules" focus on Marketing, Management and Finance,
and each contains its own comprehensive set of directives and
implementation strategies.
According to Michelle Thompson-Dolberry, Director, Customer Advocacy
Marketing at American Express OPEN, no less than 40% of the nation’s
businesses are owned by women, representing 16% of jobs in the U.S.
These firms have a major impact on our economy – approximately $3
trillion. In addition, the U.S. government awards approximately $500
billion in annual contracts, and 5% of those contracts are required to
go to women-owned businesses.
Supporting their clients in this ever changing economy is a primary
focus of Spencer, and the strategies learned in this and similar
conferences strengthens that committment to you.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TAPPS DIVISION II BOYS SOCCER STATE CHAMPIONS.
Spencer
president, Kathy Hansen has a vested interest in the Tapps Division II
Boys Soccer league, since her son Spencer is the goalkeeper for Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA). After a hard fought season, they brought home the championship with a 3-0 victory over Fort Worth Christian Academy.
Prestonwood Christian Academy provides a wide array of athletic
opportunities for students in grades 7-12. They compete in 14
interscholastic sports through 41 varsity and sub-varsity teams. During
the past three years, Prestonwood Christian Academy athletics have
excelled, producing:
- Two National Championship Teams
- Five State Championship Teams
- Two State Championship Runner-up Teams
PCA
has become known around the state and the country for excellence in
athletics. Results are important, but Prestonwood Christian Academy
understands the real importance of athletics. Athletics teach
discipline, the importance of hard work, the setting and attaining of
worthwhile goals, responding to authority, self-sacrifice, humility and
composure under pressure. Through athletics, students learn to face
adversity and challenges with a steady eye, a courageous spirit, and
reliance upon the ultimate authority – Jesus Christ.
